The new shops at Mongkok and Tsing Yi cover a floor area of 1,269 sq. ft and 627 sq. ft. respectively. Adopting Eu Yan Sang's typical open display set up, the shops also showcase specimens and explanatory information of Chinese Medicines. This is in line with the Group's educational initiatives to promote and enhance public understanding of Chinese Medicines.

Mr. Eu said, "Eu Yan Sang scored a big success in rejuvenating the Chinese Medicines market to appeal to the younger generation. We have re-conceptualised Chinese Proprietary Medicines and made therapeutic health foods part of daily necessities. The Group will be launching different new products into the market in due course and we are very optimistic as to the prospects of the Chinese Medicines market."

The Group is highly committed to superior product quality standard as Eu Yan Sang is a hugely popular household brand name in Chinese communities around the world. In 2002, Eu Yan Sang's production plant was awarded a GMP Certificate for Therapeutic Goods by the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia. Eu Yan Sang is the first manufacturer of herbal powders and capsules in Hong Kong to have obtained GMP certification for the entire manufacturing process, that is, from raw herbs to finished products. This accreditation certifies that Eu Yan Sang's products are of international standards. Full GMP implementation is planned for the Group's Western Medicines manufacturing plant in 2003, further raising product standard and strengthening quality control measures to provide customers products of confidence guaranty.
