Eu Yan Sang's expansion plan has been rolled out and includes (1) upgrading the manufacturing facilities in Hong Kong to meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standard; (2) expanding its wholesales distribution network in Mainland China to different provinces and cities following the product registration of Bak Foong Pills and Bo Ying Compound with the State of Drug Administration. The two products are now available in over 4,000 drugstores, department stores and various major hospitals in China; (3) beginning the product registration process in Taiwan.

Ms Alice Wong Suet-ying, Director and General Manager of Eu Yan Sang (Hong Kong) Ltd remarked, "The Yuen Long shop is our 18th outlet in Hong Kong. We chose Yuen Long because of the population growth forecast and profile of the locality. According to a government study based on Census and Statistics Department data, Yuen Long area would see its population surge by 150,000 by 2010, with the growth rate ranking number one among all localities."

Eu Yan Sang has continued to build its image for genuine, quality and innovative Chinese medicinal products. The recent rebranding of the group has underlined the up market vision and service the company delivers. The Yuen Long shop is designed in line with the new retail identity system, offering a unique retail environment to customers - contemporary, spacious design, with products displayed on gondolas so that customers can freely examine the products and study their functions. The retail system also includes window displays, screen patterns and educational displays that are consistent with the new retail image.
