QIN JIA YUAN MEDIA SERVICES COMPANY LIMITED
Wins event contract from New Silk Road for world supermodel contest
Solicits nationwide broadcast to increase fee and sponsorship revenues

Hong Kong, September 5, 2004 - China's leading media and marketing services provider Qin Jia Yuan Media Services Company Limited (SEHK: 2366) announces the staging of New Silk Road Model Look International 2004 today in Hangzhou. The Company was appointed by the organizing committee as the strategic media consultant for the competition. Qin Jia Yuan was commissioned to solicit and arrange for nationwide television broadcast of the event and was also awarded the media rights for four title sponsorships, in addition to the planning rights for national TV broadcast of the contest's syndication programmes (貼片廣告) with commercial airtime attached to it. The Company expects to collect more than HK$3 million in fees and income from the arrangement of sponsorships, syndication programmes and advertisements.

Qin Jia Yuan will leverage its expertise and connections in China's TV and broadcasting sector to solicit national coverage for today's supermodel contest staged in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The programme was distributed to all major TV channels in 31 provinces for broadcast during prime time following its premiere on Hangzhou TV.

Dr Leung Anita Fung Yee Maria, CEO of Qin Jia Yuan, noted: "The New Silk Road Model look International is a major world event. Capitalizing on our longstanding working relationships with broadcasting networks in major Mainland cities, we are able to raise the profile of the event while introducing high-quality content to the TV media in China. It is also a prime opportunity for advertisers seeking premium exposure in the country.

"We have already secured the participation of White Cat as a title sponsor for national TV broadcast and as an official product provider. Satisfied with the promotional effect of its sponsorship of last year's event, White Cat has raised its budget for the 2004 contest. This year, we are expanding the event coverage to almost all key networks in the country on the back of our strong connections with TV channels. There will be tremendous synergistic benefits to be derived from the collaboration of the organizer, TV networks and advertisers, enabled with our unique market acumen in the Mainland's media services sector."

The New Silk Road Model Look International began in 1989 as a Mainland event. Over the years, the contest has brought numerous supermodels including Ye Jihong (葉繼紅), Ma Yanli(馬艷麗), Hu Bing(胡冰) and Zhang Xinjie(張信哲) to the hall of fame. Today's contest has the participation of 48 up and coming models from over 30 countries across the five continents.

"Event sponsorship and broadcasting arrangements is a synergistic business line to supplement our core businesses. For example, title sponsor White Cat is also a major sponsor of some TV production projects currently served by our media services arm. Over the past few years, we witnessed a growing trend of organizers selecting China as the venue to host world events, and increased interests of advertisers in event sponsorships. This trend points to the Mainland's maturing capability in staging major events such as the Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo. We see tremendous potential to be tapped from this new market opening and are actively pursuing the rights to such world events as the China region competition for Miss World. Management is confident of our Company's further developments in this business line," Dr Leung concluded.
