The signing ceremony announcing the cooperation took place in today's press conference held in Beijing and was officiated by D-Link's PRC General Manager, Mr Jack Huang and Artel's Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer, Mr Frederick Yu. The Group will mainly engage in distributing D-Link's high-end networking solutions in the PRC. In end of May 2002, D-Link has held an important meeting with all its distributors in Hongzhou and currently it has appointed four distributors in the PRC. Mr Huang, PRC General Manager of D-Link Corporation, said: "The four PRC distributors have already developed their own customer bases and distribution channels for low to middle range networking solutions market in China. With Artel's experience and strong background in the business, as well as its established distribution network and technological capability in providing e-enabling solutions, Artel will be specializing in our high-end networking products distribution in the Mainland market. It is our intention to work closely with Artel and this is also the main reason for us to enter into an agreement with Artel so that we can jointly develop and explore the PRC market." The cooperation between D-Link and Digital China has already ceased to operate earlier. After a stringent selection process and careful consideration, D-Link once again appoints Artel as its distribution agent for the China market. For the first time, D-Link changes its past market positioning in selling low to middle range products and launch the DES-6000 high-end switches and Enterprise Layer three switches with the big-scale enterprises and telecommunications corporations as the target customers. Apart from providing hardware products, D-Link will also provide software solutions to its clients. Mr Frederick Yu, Executive Director and Chief Operation Officer, Artel Solutions Group Holdings Limited, said: "We are targeting on government departments, financial operations and telecommunications companies, sectors that have great demand for information technology and networking solutions as our main business focus for distributing D-Link high-end networking products. Artel has both the capability and experience in IT products distribution and providing e-enabling solutions which matches perfectly with D-Link's change of marketing strategy in developing business with big-scale enterprises and in the information industry. We shall immediately commence training work for our staff and partners of our core distribution channels. Nationwide road shows and exhibitions as well as seminars will also be organized at the same time, aiming to engineer the penetration of D-Link full range products into the PRC market." Artel is one of Intel's major distributors in the Asia Pacific region mainly in CPU and motherboard. The Group has always strived to expand and extend its business scope and product range. In 2001, the Group was named the sole authorized agent in Greater China region of the worldwide well-known network hardware and software solutions provider, F5 Networks, Inc. ("F5"). In January 2002, the Group was granted the PRC distribution right for Intel tray CPU and commenced the distribution of "Arcon" motherboards under its own brand name. In addition, the Group has also cooperated with information services operators to launch the mobile and wireless applications solutions in the market. The gaining of the distribution rights for D-Link's products will not only strengthen the Group's product mix, but will also achieve a synergic effect with the Group's business as an e-enabling solutions provider. The result will ultimately benefit the clients with more and more value-added products and services made available to them. D-Link Corporation Artel Solutions Group Issued by : Through :
