![]() ASIA ALUMINUM HOLDINGS LIMITED Expands Curtain Wall Testing Services Following Accreditation
Mr Benby Chan, Managing Director of Asia Aluminum Holdings, said: "Our Group began to provide curtain wall testing services in 2000, initially as part of our initiative to provide one-stop total solutions to our clients. Fee revenues generated from our testing chamber totaled HK$21.4 million for FY2002, posting an operating profit of HK$17.7 million. Last month, the Group has completed the upgrade of the testing chamber facilities by doubling its capacity. Following the expansion of our testing chamber facilities and the award of the Government accreditation, we expect a threefold increase in fee revenues in the provision of curtain wall testing services in 2003."
The scope of accreditation includes cyclic safety tests for curtain wall systems accepted under the Buildings Ordinance in Hong Kong. The Group has already arranged for a number of site visits for major property developers in Hong Kong. "With the popularity of the use of curtain wall systems and the cost advantages of providing testing services in China, we have full confidence in this services arm. In addition to opening up an additional income avenue, our expansion of the services operation will also help enhance our overall profit margin," added Mr Chan.
Asia Aluminum Holdings specializes in infrastructure and construction projects, including the Science and Technology Park, the redevelopment project in Mongkok Bird Street, Kowloon Station Phase II, Nina Tower, Cyberport and IFC Tower Phase II in Hong Kong; as well as Guangzhou Huadu Airport, Shanghai World Trade International Centre and Jiangsu Mobile Telecom Tower in the PRC.
