To cope with the business expansion of "3D-GOLD" Tourism Exhibition Hall in Hunghom, the Group plans to recruit 100 additional staff to fill positions included sales managers, sales officers, public relations officers, accounting clerks, security officers and janitors. Since the opening of "3D-GOLD" Tourism Exhibition Hall in January 2001, the Tourism Exhibition Hall has become one of the most popular tourist spots in Hong Kong. Featuring innovative and unique masterpieces, the Tourism Exhibition Hall attracted over 1 million visitors within the first 12 months of its operations. In view of the Government's efforts in advancing the tourism industry, and the streamlining of visa application procedures for visitors from Mainland China and Taiwan, tourist arrivals are expected to increase substantially in the near future. To keep pace with demand growth, the Group has decided to expand the Tourism Exhibition Hall with additional floor area in 30,000 sq. ft. Ms. Kathy Ng, President of Hang Fung Gold Technology Group, explained: "the daily visitors of the Tourism Exhibition Hall is topping to 3,000 and doubling in major public holidays. Although we have almost 250 staff and current floor area with 20,000 sq. ft., the capacity of the Tourism Exhibition Hall is already fully utilized. To cope with the increased patronage, we need to expand the capacity of the Tourism Exhibition Hall and our service team as well." The Group is offering 100 new positions at the moment, remuneration of which is commensurate with different post and experience. The remuneration package is expected to exceed HK$10,000 per month (inclusive of basic salary and commissions) and the staff benefits included annual leave, medical insurance and MPF schemes. "We have been receiving advance bookings from tour agents and groups for visiting the Tourism Exhibition Hall during the National Day holidays. Visitors are expected to surge to over 10,000 average daily and revenues are anticipated to increase six-fold within the golden week. Alongside our flagship Tourism Exhibition Hall, we are actively expanding the retail networks of "3D-GOLD" and "La Milky Way" shops in China. Some of the recruited staff will therefore have the opportunity to be outposted to China for managerial and marketing posts," added Ms Ng. Last week, the Group announced the appointment of Shandong Luneng Commercial Trading Company Limited (山東魯能商貿有限公司)as the exclusive franchisee for "3D-GOLD" in Shandong Province, China. Shandong Luneng mapped out an expansion plan which included the opening of ten franchised shops in Shandong Province within two years. The Group is also considering a further expansion of the "3D-GOLD" Tourism Exhibition Hall in Hunghom following the opening of the 30,000-sq ft new wing. This is the third large-scale recruitment exercise of Hang Fung Gold Technology Group in this year. The first recruitment day was held in April 2002 for "3D-GOLD" Tourism Exhibition Hall, and the second was staged last month to recruit fresh graduates as management trainees. The Group had enrolled over 1,700 applicants in the past two events and successfully recruited 100 staff for the Tourism Exhibition Hall and 35 management trainees. Ms Ng concluded: "We are able to steer our way out of a weak retailing environment with our innovative tourism-focused retailing concept. To facilitate our further expansion, we welcome retailing talents to join us." About Hang Fung Gold Technology Issued by : Through :
