PROVIEW INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS LIMITED
Registered Growth in Turnover and Profit

Hong Kong, November 12, 2000 - Computer monitors and Internet appliances manufacturer PROVIEW International Holdings Limited (HKSE : 334) announces today its audited consolidated results for the year ended June 30, 2000. During the year, the Group registered strong growth in turnover to HK$4.2 billion which represents a 41.65% increase compared to the previous financial year. Profit attributable to shareholders was HK$122 million against an unfavourable market environment. Basic earnings per share were HK19.3 cents and the Board of Directors recommends a final dividend of HK1.5 cents per share.

During the year, the Group has achieved another record level in turnover reflecting its superior position in the global computer monitor industry and world-class production capabilities. In the period, the Group has recorded considerable growth in turnover, mainly attributable to the increased sales in Europe and sustained growth in the United States. However, certain marketwide developments, including the depreciation of the Euro and the escalating costs of electronic components, have slightly restrained our profit growth in the second half of the year.

To further capitalising on its leading position, the Group invested in the development of the new Internet Appliances line, the world's first CRT-based Internet-access devices. The first series of this new product line, iPAD (Internet Personal Access Devices), has already been officially launched to the market, with mass production commencing in early September 2000. Market response is encouraging. "To capitalise on our competitive advantages, know-how in display technology and to capture the growing Internet appliances market, we will continue to diversify our resources to the development of display based information appliances," noted Mr Rowell Yang Long-san, PROVIEW's Chairman and Managing Director. "Affordably priced and fashionably designed, this product line is well received in the market and are expected to bring significant return for the Group in the future."

In line with its continued research and development, the Group has also introduced a new series of high end TFT LCD flat panel monitors as well as a new line of flat-screen CRT monitors last year.

In the year under review, the Group has issued convertible bonds of US$20 million to two professional outside investors, GE Equity, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Capital, and Diamond International Services Limited (formerly known as Winter Flame, Inc.), a subsidiary of GEMS Oriental & General Fund Ltd. Such new investors will enable the Group to further broaden its shareholders' base and strengthen its financial position.

Being one of the world's largest manufacturers in computer monitors, the Group has sought to further enhance its production capabilities. The Group has formed a joint venture company in China for the production of CRT deflection yoke, a critical component of display devices, and has acquired production facilities in Brazil to manufacture computer monitors. In addition to the establishment of new production lines to expand its capacity, the Group has also installed machinery to upgrade and automate the production process to improve on efficiency. Further investments in software and computer networking equipment have helped to enhance the Group's resources planning ability.

PROVIEW International Holdings Limited is principally engaged in the design, manufacturing and sales of computer monitors under its own PROVIEW and EMC brand names for worldwide markets including North America, Europe and Asia.. Leveraging on its leading-edge display technology, the Group has expanded into the development of the display-based Internet-access information appliances. The Group has achieved ISO9002 and ISO14000 certifications, gaining further recognition of its quality and environmental standards.
